Bridal preparation in the Liverpool
If you don’t believe in soul mates these images prove that theres a ‘one’ for every person...xI was extremely flattered and over whelmed to be chosen to photograph Lisa and Chris’s Wedding at the glorious Shankly Hotel. Without Chris and his once ‘Dream’ to create a Hotel as a living memory to his late Grandfather ‘Bill Shankly’ this venue which just gets better everytime I come, might have never have existed. The hotel has great meaning to this couple and over their relationship they have seen it being built, grow, expand and become the stunning venue it is today.
Wedding Ceremony at the Shankly Hotel
The Hotel itself is well known for being a Luxury Wedding venue in the heart of Liverpool city centre, the roof terraces give you a view of the whole city including is eye conic buildings and skyline. They also do a killer afternoon tea! The Terrace is a special place for these two as its where Chris proposed to Lisa at the end of last year and today they got to share their perfect wedding day in the same unique place.
Room 609 at the Shankly is the ULTIMATE Bridal Suite. It was impossible not to go over kill with these images because the place is like a ‘Fairytale’. If your a bride looking for the very best bridal suite in the city this is the ‘ONLY’ one! Its beautiful in everyway possible. Its a girls dream. Large windows, stunning natural light, glamorous beds and ornate furniture. And of course the flower ceiling. The day began with the girls getting prepped and pampered for the day. Toni Mckeever on Make up an extremely talented make up artist and one I love to bump into. The flower girls rummaging through her make up cases for lipgloss’s! Pastel rainbow bridesmaids dresses hung on a tall ornate wardrobe. Lisa’s gown is a classic, lace fishtail number. Shoes - Christian Louboutin's Stunning, Sparkly and Perfection. Lisa’s Mum sadly passed a few weeks before her wedding day, she carried two precious photos of her on the day, a crystal locket on her bouquet and another one on the inside of her gown falling in pride of place close to her heart.
Lisa is the one of the most ‘Real’ girls I have ever met, she’s funny, laid back, has an infectious smile and sense of humour. She’s wonderful and easy to work with and was so excited to see Chris alternatively known as her ’Shankly’. These two are normally inseparable. You will notice from these photographs the way they love to hold hands, always in contact with each other, theres a ‘look’ and a bond lots of loving glances and of course banter. This wedding is one where without doubt Lisa & Chris are undoubtedly soul mates, I could feel an emotional connection between these two from the moment I first met them.
Close family and friends come and go, massive smiles and embraces are exchanged. Including that of ‘Ciara’ the Shankly’s very own Wedding co-ordinator who is just a fabulous being and a guest today! Lisa is dressed and we do a reveal for the bridesmaids, her son and dad arrive with some emotional moments captured.
Ceremony one is in the baby Eden Room, bright, vintage and inviting. Guests are seated and a nervous Chris stands waiting for his bride. The bridesmaids arrive and Lisa follows arm in arm with her son. A heartfelt ceremony with readings, exchange of rings, and a joint candle lighting complete this intimate event.
The main ceremony takes place on the new larger roof terrace, the string quartet is playing, guests are excited and all smiles as the bride and groom arrive for their large roof top ceremony. The ceremony is beyond unique with a ceremony which included a love lock, balloons carrying the keys never to be unbroken, two readings, exchange of rings and a kiss complete with the sunshine ripping through the clouds as they shared their 'I do' kiss. Confetti is thrown as the couple decend down the isle.
Speeches, Love, Party & Cake
Speeches were heartfelt and emotional with the absence of both Lisa & Chris's Mums. If one thing is very clear is how much both these ladies are loved and were missed on such a special day. Chris and Lisa went to see Chris’s mum who was unfortunately in hospital and too ill to attend. From what I heard they had a lovely little doo at the hospital bringing the wedding celebrations to her!
As the evening guests arrived and the sun began to come down, we headed on the roof top for some smoke bomb action, quickly followed by a cake cutting and a their first dance to ‘A thousand Years’. Red heart confetti exploded into the dance floor and completed a perfect dance where again the looks, the kisses, and the closeness were beautifully displayed.
This wedding made me excited from day one, I enjoyed the day so much and I have been overwhelmed to have been a part of it. I can only wish this perfect couple the very best for the future not only for them as a family but also all the ongoing an exciting ideas ongoing at the hotel. A place which is forever growing and surprising everyone in all the best ways. One of my favourite Liverpool venues EVER - The Shankly Hotel.
